Evelith Olmeda Garcia
Dear Parents, Students and Community,
Welcome to a new school year 2016-2017 at Liberty High School, Home of the Chargers! First, let me introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Olmeda-Garcia. I am proud to be your school principal. I have been married for 23 years and have a set of 20 years old twins. I was born, raised and went to school in Puerto Rico. In 1988, I moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee to work on the thesis for my master’s degree at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; that is how I came to United States and started my journey. In 1989, I relocated to New Britain, Connecticut where I started teaching. In 2000 my family relocated to Florida. Since then I have been working for the School District of Osceola County. Prior to becoming your principal, I worked at Poinciana High School, Celebration High School, Narcoossee Community, Narcoossee Middle School and Parkway Middle School. I look forward to getting to know you in the upcoming year.
At Liberty High School, we believe that the key to a successful school is a product of the partnership between home, school, and the community. For this reason, I urge you to become actively involved in your child’s education. You and your child are welcome to attend the Open House on August 4, 2016 from 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM. Hope to see you!
You might want to serve as a parent volunteer or attend SAC. You can also become involved by staying in contact with your child’s teacher, checking your child’s grades using FOCUS, and talking with your child about what he/she is learning at school. There are many, many ways to be an involved parent at Liberty High School. Please contact the office if you need assistance in finding out what you can do to help ensure your child has a successful year.
I encourage you to become an active member of our School Advisory Committee at Liberty. SAC is made up of hardworking parents and teachers who plan many activities to enhance student learning. It is a wonderful example of parents and teachers working together to impact the lives of children. Join our group and make a difference!
I am excited to begin another school year with what I consider to be the best faculty, parents, and students in Kissimmee! Please let me know if I can ever be of assistance to you.
